Anthony, Texas, located in West Texas, was established in 1904 and incorporated in 1955. It was named after the wife of a railroad official. The town is known for its rich railroad history and the iconic "Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ" landmark, which stands 190 feet tall and is visible from many miles away. Anthony is also home to the Anthony Water Tower, built in 1927, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
