Hooks, Texas is a city in Harris County, United States. It was established in the late 1800s and incorporated in 1969. The city was named after railroad worker John Henry Hooks. Hooks is home to the famous Big Thicket National Preserve, a unique wilderness area with a diverse range of plant and animal life. The city has a population of approximately 2,700 as of the 2020 census.
