Karnack is a small town in Harrison County, Texas, USA. Established in the late 1800s, it was named after the Biblical city of Carchemish, which was mispronounced by early settlers. The town is best known as the birthplace of musician and bandleader Johnny Hodges and for the historic Karnack High School, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. Today, Karnack has a population of around 400 and offers a quiet, rural way of life.
