Noonday is a small town in Smith County, Texas, USA. It was established in the 1870s and named for its location, which was near the midpoint of a stagecoach route between Tyler and Shreveport. The town was originally a farming community, but it later became known for its mining industry, particularly the Noonday Opal Mine.
