Palmview, Texas, US is a city in Hidalgo County, founded in 1960 and incorporated in 1965. It is part of the McAllen–Edinburg–Mission metropolitan area, located in the southern tip of Texas near the Mexico border. The city's population was 5,460 in the 2010 census. Palmview is known for its notable landmark, the La Lomita Historical Park, which was a site of the Battle of Palmito Ranch during the American Civil War.
