Santaquin is a city in Utah County, Utah, US, with a population of approximately 12,000 as of 2020. It was settled in the late 1850s by Mormon pioneers and was originally named "Summit City" due to its location at the summit of the south slope of the Utah Valley. The city was later renamed to Santaquin, after a Ute chief. Santaquin is known for its annual Pioneer Day celebration, which includes a parade, rodeo, and other activities. The city is also home to the Santaquin Canyon, a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
