Catlett, Virginia, located in Fauquier County, is a small unincorporated community with a population of approximately 2,000. It was named after Richard Catlett, a local plantation owner in the 18th century. The community is home to the historic Catlett Train Station, which was built in 1854 and served as a stop on the Orange and Alexandria Railroad. During the Civil War, the station was used as a hospital for wounded soldiers. Today, the station has been restored and serves as a museum and visitor center.
