Monroe, Virginia, US is a town in Gloucester County, established in 1769. It was named after James Monroe, the fifth President of the United States. The town is home to the Monroe Workhouse, a historic site used during the American Revolutionary War. Monroe is also known for its annual Blooms & Berries Festival at the Crowninshield family's Edgewood Plantation.
