Chattaroy is an unincorporated community in Spokane County, Washington, US, located approximately 15 miles northwest of Spokane. It was first settled in the late 19th century and named after a town in West Virginia by a homesick miner. The community is primarily rural and residential, with a population of around 3,000. A notable attraction in Chattaroy is the historic Mukaltin Schoolhouse, which was built in 1907 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
