Pembine is a town in Florence County, Wisconsin, US, established in the late 19th century. It was incorporated in 1904, growing around the lumber industry. The town's name comes from the Ojibwe word "bemijig", meaning "a river flowing through a swamp". Pembine is home to the Great Northern Paper Company, a significant historical landmark that was once the world's largest newsprint mill.
