Sutton, West Virginia, United States is the county seat of Braxton County. The town was established in 1897 and named after Samuel H. Sutton, a local attorney. It is located on the Elk River and has a population of approximately 1,000 people. Sutton is home to the annual Braxton County Memorial Day Parade, one of the oldest and largest Memorial Day parades in the state. The town also offers recreational activities such as fishing, boating, and hiking at the nearby Stuart Recreational Park.
