Williamstown, West Virginia, US is a city in Wood County, established in 1810. It was initially named Meigsville, after Return J. Meigs, a surveyor. The city was later renamed Williamstown in 1871, after its founder, General William Wallace. Williamstown is home to the Fenton Art Glass Company, a notable attraction known for its handcrafted glass products since 1905. The city has a rich history in the glass industry and is also the site of the Wood County 4-H Camp Wildwood.
