Fairplay, Colorado, US is a statutory town in Park County, established in 1859 during the Pike's Peak Gold Rush. It lies at an elevation of 9,957 feet, making it one of the highest towns in the United States. Originally named "Tin Cup," it was later renamed to Fairplay, meaning "fair play," due to the miners' agreement to share gold equally. The town served as the model for the fictional South Park in the animated television series. A notable attraction is the South Park City Museum, an authentic recreation of an 1880s mining town with original structures and over 40,000 artifacts.
