Windsor, Colorado, US is a town located in Weld and Larimer counties, north of Denver. Established in 1882, it was originally a farming community, with the first settlers being drawn to the area for its fertile soil and access to the Cache la Poudre River. The town was named after the Windsor Castle in England by the wife of one of the settlers. A notable attraction in Windsor is the Colorado-Big Thompson Water Project's Windsor Dam and Reservoir, which provides water to the surrounding area.
