Oldsmar, Florida, located in Pinellas County, was founded in 1916 by automobile pioneer Ransom E. Olds. The city, initially named "Tampa Shores," was later renamed in Olds' honor. Olds had envisioned a "city of the future" with canals and waterways, but the original plans were never fully realized. Today, Olds' former estate, the R.E. Olds Park, is a notable attraction, featuring a public pier, a beach, and picturesque views of Old Tampa Bay. The city covers a total area of approximately 17 square miles, with a population of around 14,000 as of 2020.
