Forsyth is a city in Monroe County, Georgia, US, founded in 1823 and incorporated in 1824. It was named after John Forsyth, a Georgia governor and senator. The city served as the county seat until 1868, when it was moved to Forsyth's current location. The city is home to the historic Indian Springs Hotel, a notable landmark known for its mineral springs, which has hosted notable guests such as General William Tecumseh Sherman and President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
