Roswell, Georgia, US is a city located in northern Fulton County. It was incorporated in 1854 and is named after Roswell King, a businessman from Connecticut who established a cotton mill in the area. During the American Civil War, the city was the site of a Confederate manufacturing facility and was occupied by Union forces in 1864. Today, Roswell is known for its historic district, which includes over 640 structures dating from the 1830s to the 1950s, and is home to the Bulloch Hall, a Greek Revival-style mansion that was the childhood home of President Theodore Roosevelt's mother.
