Clarinda, Iowa, US is a city in Page County, established in 1853. It was named after the daughter of a chief of the Sac and Fox tribes. The city is known for the Nodaway Valley Historical Museum, which features local history exhibits, including the birthplace of renowned opera singer, Simon Estes. Clarinda has a rich agricultural history and is home to the Iowa State Veterans Home. The city is also the site of the annual Southwest Iowa Renewable Energy (SIRE) ethanol plant conference.
