Mount Pulaski, Illinois, US is a small town with a population of around 1,500. It was established in 1833 and named after Kazimierz Pułaski, a Polish hero of the American Revolutionary War. The town served as the state capital for two days in 1840. Mount Pulaski is home to the Mount Pulaski Courthouse State Historic Site, a National Historic Landmark, which was the site of the last Lincoln-Douglas debate in 1858.
