Greensburg, Kentucky is a small city in Green County, founded in 1790. It was named after Nathanael Greene, a major general in the American Revolutionary War. The county courthouse, built in 1803, is the oldest in Kentucky still in use. Greensburg is home to the largest hand-dug well in the world, the Greensburg Mammoth Cave, which reaches a depth of 120 feet and a diameter of 32 feet.
