Hart, Michigan is a village in Oceana County, in the west-central part of the state's lower peninsula. It was settled in the 1850s and incorporated in 1887, with the name "Hart" chosen in honor of a local farmer, James Hart. The village is known for its annual Hart Middle School Cherry Bowl, a scholastic bowl competition that has been held since 1976. A notable landmark is the Historic District, which includes over 100 structures from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
