Wright, Minnesota, located in Carlton County, was named after Silas Wright, a New York governor and senator. The town was incorporated in 1907, growing with the arrival of the Duluth, Missabe and Northern Railway. Wright's economy initially relied on logging and farming, but later shifted towards tourism. The town is home to the historic Joyce Estate, a 4,000-acre property with 50 buildings, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
