Hewlett, NY, located in Nassau County, is a hamlet with a rich history. It was founded in the 17th century by settlers from England and was originally part of the Town of Hempstead. The area was primarily agricultural until the late 19th century when it began to develop as a summer resort for wealthy New Yorkers.
