New Hartford is a town in Oneida County, New York, US, founded in 1793. It was named after New Hartford, Connecticut, the former home of early settlers. The town covers an area of 41.3 square miles and has a population of approximately 22,000. One notable attraction is the Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute, an art museum and arts school founded in 1919 through the bequest of benefactor Marion Proctor.
