Carey, Ohio is a village located in Wyandot County in the northwest region of the state. It was established in 1834 and named after William Carey, an English Baptist missionary. The village covers a total area of 1.59 square miles and has a population of approximately 3,500 residents as of the 2020 census. Carey is home to the Carey Railroad Depot, a historic landmark that was built in 1868 and served as a passenger and freight station until the 1970s.
