Clinton is a village in western Ohio, United States, and the county seat of Huron County. It was founded in 1828 and named after DeWitt Clinton, the former governor of New York. The village covers an area of 3.2 square miles and had a population of 1,944 as of the 2010 census. Clinton is home to the Huron County Courthouse, a notable landmark constructed in 1871 in the Second Empire style.
