Somerset, PA, US is a borough in Somerset County, established in 1795 and incorporated in 1804. It is located in the Laurel Highlands region of the Allegheny Mountains. The town is known for its rich coal and lumber history, and the site of the Quecreek Mine Rescue, where nine miners were trapped and eventually rescued in 2002. The borough is home to the Somerset County Courthouse, a historic landmark built in 1838.
