Orleans, Vermont, is a town in Orleans County with a population of approximately 1,600 as of 2010. It was chartered in 1798 and named after the French city of Orléans. The town is home to the historic Orleans County Courthouse, built in 1892, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Orleans is also known for its scenic landscapes, including the rolling hills of the Northeast Kingdom region.
