Brookfield, Connecticut, US is a town located in Fairfield County, established in 1754. It was originally a part of New Milford and Derby known as the "Fourth Society." The town was named after Moses Brooks, an early settler. Brookfield is home to the historic landmark of the Brookfield Theatre for the Arts, a cultural center that has been providing live entertainment since 1945. Today, the town has a population of approximately 17,000 and covers an area of 21.7 square miles.
