Boca Raton is a city in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States, incorporated in 1925. It was originally the site of a military installation during the Second Seminole War in the 1830s and later became a farming community in the 1890s. The city experienced significant growth in the 1920s with the construction of the Boca Raton Hotel and Club and the Florida East Coast Railway. Today, Boca Raton is known for its upscale shopping, dining, and residential areas, including the Town Center at Boca Raton and the Boca Raton Resort & Club. The city is also home to Florida Atlantic University and the research park, Innovation Campus.
