Nicholasville, Kentucky, US is the county seat of Jessamine County, founded in 1798. It was named after Colonel George Nicholas, a framer of the Kentucky Constitution. The city has grown from a population of 694 in 1830 to over 28,000 in 2010, becoming the 11th largest city in Kentucky.
