Dickson City is a borough in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, United States. Established in 1891, the town was named after George Dickson, a local businessman and mine owner. Originally an agricultural community, Dickson City transformed into a coal mining town in the late 19th century. Today, it is home to the historic Hollingsworth Mill, a former textile mill built in 1895, which now serves as a commercial and retail center. The town has a population of approximately 6,000 residents and covers an area of 4.5 square miles.
