Gig Harbor, Washington, US is a city of around 10,000 people, located on the southern end of Puget Sound. It was originally inhabited by the Suquamish and Nisqually tribes, with European settlers arriving in the mid-19th century. The city was officially incorporated in 1946 and is named after a sheltered harbor along the Puget Sound. A notable attraction is the Gig Harbor Gondola, which offers tours of the harbor in authentic Italian gondolas.
