Greenland, New Hampshire, US is a town in Rockingham County, established in 1721. It was originally part of New Hampshire's largest town, Dover, and was named "Chapman's Land" after its first settler, John Chapman. The town was later renamed "Greenland" after the country of the same name, due to its green and fertile land. A notable attraction in Greenland is the Weeks Act Museum, which commemorates the Weeks Act of 1911 that led to the creation of the National Forest System.
