Yauco, located in the southwestern region of Puerto Rico, was founded in 1756 by Don Luis de Lasso Encalada. It is known as the "Coffee Capital of Puerto Rico" due to its rich coffee production history. The town's historic district, known as the Placita de Yauco, features Spanish colonial architecture and is home to the San Francisco de Asís Church, a notable landmark.
