Fort Gordon, located in Augusta, Georgia, USA, is a United States Army installation established in 1917. It was originally named Camp Gordon and served as a training facility during World War I. The base was named after John Brown Gordon, a Confederate general and prominent Georgian. In 1941, it was reactivated for World War II and renamed Fort Gordon in 1956. Today, Fort Gordon is the home of the U.S. Army Signal Corps and the Cyber Center of Excellence, with the National Security Agency (NSA) and the U.S. Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER) also located on the base. A notable landmark is the Gordon Memorial Chapel, a historic chapel built in 1936.
