Clifton Township is a township in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, US, established in 1825. It was named after Clifton, a village in the township that no longer exists. The township was once home to the Starrucca Viaduct, a notable landmark and an engineering feat of its time, completed in 1848. The viaduct, which is still in use today, is a 1,040-foot long and 100-foot high stone arch bridge that carries the former Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad over the Starrucca Creek.
