Ewa Beach, located on the leeward coast of Oahu, Hawaii, was once a large sugarcane plantation. The area was named "Ewa" by ancient Hawaiians, which means "crooked" or "sewed," referring to the shape of the coastline. In the early 20th century, James Campbell, a wealthy businessman, acquired large tracts of land in the area and developed a successful sugarcane plantation. Today, Ewa Beach is a residential community with a population of approximately 15,000 people. The Ewa Beach Golf Course, a notable attraction, is a popular spot for both residents and visitors.
