Gnadenhutten, Ohio, US is a village in Tuscarawas County. It was established in 1772 as a Moravian Indian mission, making it the first Christian Indian mission in Ohio. The name "Gnadenhutten" means "Tents of Grace" in German. The village is known for the Gnadenhutten Massacre in 1782, where a group of Lenape Indians were killed by colonial militiamen.
